I WAS an established customer, using same credit card. I cancelled an order of $21,000 due to APMEX demanding a proof of identity (holding my drivers license next to my face, front and back of drivers license and credit card). How insane! It's been 5 days and they have not released my Pending charge on my credit card after multiple emails and phone calls to do so! This is tying up my funds on my credit card! AX said the problem was them, they must release the charge! DO NOT waste your time or money with this company!

I am a former customer of Apmex. They used to be a good company. I bought a bunch of gold in the 2014-2016 time frame from them. Most recently, i bought all of my gold from elsewhere as Apmex had the highest premiums of everyone online. I had no intention of leaving a negative review until I recieved an offer via snail mail for $50 off. Now, i am inclined to alert anyone and everyone of these scam artists. It's one thing to charge 2x-3x the premium of everyone else in the industry. It's another to send a "coupon" by snail mail. THAT is disingenuous! THAT is wrong. PERIOD!

This company apparently has no integrity. They sent my silver bars without proper packaging so all the bars arrived damaged. I called immediately & was told they would exchange my items. I sent the items back the very next day. It has been a month and a half & I still don't have my replacement bars. I called & was told some of my bars were out of stock. Instead of offering to send me another brand of the same size, they said they will refund my money & I would have to repurchase. So, now since the price of silver has gone up it's going to cost me money to replace these bars. I've called & e-mailed to discuss the situation but I"m being ignored. I am done with this company and now so is my father-in-law (a long-time customer of theirs). My advice - find another company who cares about their customers!

Everything is great, lots of good orders, until you place your biggest order ever then somehow your package disappears in transit.
Oh but it's insured right? Not according to USPS. They lied, it's Private insurance You will have to jump through 35 hoops and go to your police department and file a police report even though your package disappeared across the country in Oklahoma.
I highly recommend avoiding this company and going with jmbullion or another reputable online dealer that hasn't had their packages profiled by USPS-employee-theives.
So I'm out several thousand bucks and apmex is looking for anyway to get out of covering it. If I get reimbursed I will update my rating.

I love this company! We have been ordering from there for quite a few months. Beautiful coins that usually show up before the expected ship date, even the preorder coins. I would recommend them to everyone.

On 4/14/2021 I called and talked to Nicole about a price for some Gold I had. I asked Nicole what would I be offered if I had a 1999 W Gold American Eagle, slabbed graded 70 “unfinished PR Dies” both the $5 and $10 dollar coin.
I was told the offer was around 300.00; sorry, I was so taken back by this I really couldn’t believe what I heard.
Nicole, you mentioned you do this every night. For future reference PCGS grades the $5 coin at $3,000 and the $10 coin at $11,500.

They sent my silver coins quickly which is rare when others are taking weeks to deliver in light of the silver shortages I've been reading about. A little pricey but I'm pleased with the nice stack I've put together.

Never any issues purchasing bullion, but I usually pay card. There is a surcharge but I have not had any issues this pay method. APMEX usually is cheaper than other similar sites like SD Bullion but I really like that I can actually search a wide range of metals. I don't have to *only* look at silver rounds of the 1oz variety; I can look at coins and rounds together, or I can look at weighing 5 oz regardless of form, etc. Basically, APMEX makes it easy to actually be able to search for something you want or something in your price range.

Lousy company, ordered and payed when spot price was $25/oz, a few days later price went up and panic buying started. They then accidentaly sell my items, when they offered to ship the rest of the orders first, they lied. Never did it and cant provide me with a date of shipping.

I purchased from Ampex and have received several emails saying my order is being shipped only to have it delayed. They were quick to deposit my check! What’s the deal Ampex? Weather isn’t cutting it since I have received all my other orders. NEVER AGAIN

Only one out of their mind would purchase anything from this company APMEX. Their Supervisor John Nguyen is extremely rude, his associates have zero customer service skills, hang up on you and make you wait longer and longer when they recognize your number. I have reported them to the FTC. I also have not received the silver that I purchased from them. John, with the chip on his shoulder, will not let you speak, will keep demeaning you by speaking over your voice. Complaints have zero tolerance from this company, they won't hear them. Bought a kilo of silver and it is nowhere in sight, no tracking, nothing. I told them I would prefer they request a call back on the package and they resend it via UPS OR refund me but this rude person said No. Is this the customer service we have in the USA? Is this acceptable to most people? I recommend purchasing from the US Gold Bureau or any other mint than from this third class seller. ZERO Stars.

This is my 1st order with APMEX and was a bit skeptical + concerned at first so I paid via Paypal in case something went wrong. It took 8 days from the time I placed an order to receiving it. It was packed safely HOWEVER< please note that they ship via USPS First Class Mail so buy cautiously, unless you pay more for shipping service (but I can't review on other shipping option). I read similar reviews about 1st class mail so I made sure that I picked up the package right after USPS delivery person dropped it off in my mailbox. Their price is slightly higher than other competitors so shop around and compare.
